A celebratory lunch was organised for the residents of a Hanover Scotland sheltered housing complex in Tarves to mark a major anniversary in the history of the site.

Residents of Hanover Court in Tarves got together for a special three course lunch to celebrate 35 years since the development opened. Mrs Patty Bolland and Mr Albert Aitchison, who have lived at Hanover Court for over 23 years and 17 years respectively, cut the celebratory cake.

The special lunch followed a busy morning with residents showcasing the various social clubs on offer as part of an open day to promote the development. Hanover Court residents regularly take part in coffee mornings, a whist club, as well as a weekly knitting club where clothing and toys are made and sent to children in Malawi.

Mrs Patty Bolland said: “It is lovely that so many of the residents came together to celebrate this occasion, there is a great sense of community here and I hope that there will be many more anniversaries to mark.”

Michelle Greenfield, Hanover Court’s sheltered housing manager, said: “A great afternoon was had by all. I’d like to thank all the residents who came along and made the celebrations so special and for helping to make our open morning such a success.”

Hanover Court is made up of 26 flats and cottages and is quietly but centrally located in the pretty village of Tarves, Aberdeenshire. A Sheltered Housing Manager is on site five days a week to assist in an emergency and to look after the day-to-day upkeep of the development.

The lunch took place on Wednesday 13 September at Hanover Court in Tarves, Aberdeenshire.
