Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has donated £1,000 to support Woodmill High School’s allotment project.
The allotment provides valuable learning opportunities for students while fostering connections with the wider community – offering a green space for collaboration, education, and wellbeing.
As part of its ongoing support, Taylor Wimpey East Scotland staff volunteers will also lend a helping hand over the summer holidays to assist with establishing some raised flowerbeds and growing areas in the garden.
Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, commented: “We’re delighted to support Woodmill High School’s allotment project.
“It’s a wonderful initiative that brings people together, promotes sustainability, and provides a hands-on learning experience for students. Community engagement is at the heart of what we do, and we look forward to seeing the project thrive.”
Louise Shearer, pupil support assistant at Woodmill High School in Dunfermline and lead on the allotment project, added: “This generous donation will make a huge difference, enabling us to further develop the space and encourage more participation from students and the local community.
“The allotment is a great place to connect with nature, learn new skills, and build relationships, and we welcome everyone to get involved.”
Sandy McIntosh, rector of Woodmill High School, also expressed his appreciation for the project’s impact: “This partnership is a shining example of how collaboration between local businesses and schools can enrich students’ educational experiences and strengthen our community spirit.
“We are grateful to Taylor Wimpey East Scotland for their support, which will help us nurture both the allotment and the aspirations of our young people.”
