A hybrid event, ‘Adapting Housing for a Changing Future’ will take place on 4 November 2026, 2.00pm to 4.00pm at the University of Stirling Campus Central and online.

The summer of 2026 has highlighted how changing weather patterns are affecting our homes and communities. At the same time, Scotland faces other major challenges, including an ageing population and the need to ensure homes remain accessible and suitable throughout people’s lives.

While housing debates often focus on new developments, much of the challenge lies in adapting existing homes. This event will explore what social science research can tell us about creating housing that is resilient, accessible and fit for the future.
