Tenants, colleagues, board members and other stakeholders attended Waverley Housing’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and celebration event last month.
In a keynote address to the event, Richard Meade, chief executive of the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA), spoke about the complex environment facing social housing providers and the importance of having strong evidence and good-quality information to support effective decision-making.
The evening also provided an opportunity to recognise the staff members involved in the company’s move to a new Integrated Housing Management System, HomeMaster.
This represents a significant step forward in the way Waverley Housing works by reducing manual processes, bringing information together and using data to make informed decisions and improve services.
After four years as chair and nine years’ continuous service as a board member, Ronnie Dumma stood down as chair and was re-elected as a board member.
Vice chair Ian Davidson was appointed chair of the board, with Alan Brown moving to the position of vice chair. Sara Wilson took up the role of chair of the Audit & Internal Control Committee.
Paul Scott, chief executive, Waverley Housing, said: “This was a valuable opportunity to reflect on what we’ve achieved, recognise the people who have helped us get here and look ahead to what comes next. The move to HomeMaster will help us to improve the way we work, make better use of the information we have and, ultimately, deliver better services to our tenants.
“I’d like to thank our outgoing chair, Ronnie Dumma, for the valuable contribution he has made to Waverley Housing, and I offer a warm welcome to Ian Davidson as our new chair. I look forward to working with him, along with the rest of our board members, as we continue to support our tenants and communities across the Scottish Borders.”
