Whiteinch and Scotstoun Housing Association (WSHA) has been named the winner of the Tenants Voice Award by the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) Scotland.

This award recognises WSHA’s outstanding commitment to tenant involvement and its dedication to ensuring that tenants voices are not only heard but directly influence decisions that shape their communities.

The Tenants Voice Award is presented to social landlords who can clearly demonstrate the impact of listening to and acting upon tenant feedback. WSHA was recognised for its proactive and transparent approach to tenant engagement, and for creating meaningful opportunities for residents to shape the future of their housing and their community.

Mareta Greig, director of housing and communities at WSHA, said: “The staff team has done an outstanding job in developing community voices that directly address the daily challenges faced across our sector. Ensuring the continued viability of The Whiteinch Centre as a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space—where tenants and the wider community can come together to eat, learn, and play—is a significant achievement. This has been made possible with the invaluable support of a dedicated team of 30 volunteers.

“Alongside this, the Community Shop continues to play a vital role in tackling food inequality by offering affordable and culturally diverse food options. Furthermore, the evolution of our Customer Advisory Panel—now known as the Tenants’ Voice Panel following the success of our recent award—demonstrates our commitment to placing tenants and the community at the heart of our decision-making processes.”

Debs Allan, communities manager at WSHA, expressed her pride in the achievement. She added: “I am extremely proud of the work Whiteinch and Scotstoun Housing Association are doing to empower their tenants. WSHA’s participatory budgeting scheme has given tenants a direct say in how community funds are allocated, leading to the funding of 24 community projects over two years.”

This award highlights WSHA’s strong belief in inclusive decision-making and reinforces its commitment to placing tenants at the heart of everything it does.
