Whiteinch & Scotstoun introduces strategy for investment and communities
Whiteinch & Scotstoun Housing Association (WSHA) has introduced its new Community Investment Strategy: People, Place & Wellbeing, which lays out its vision for the next four years to develop stronger communities.
Formed through discussions with tenants, locals and partner organisations, the strategy focuses on three priorities – people and opportunity, place and environment, and health and wellbeing. It intends to form opportunities for people to attain new skills, Boost their financial resilience and develop strong connections.
Through working with tenants and local partners, WSHA intends to ease employment and learning accessibility, strengthen people’s health and wellbeing, their participation in community life and their involvement in developing the future of their community.
Mareta Greig, director of Housing & Communities at Whiteinch & Scotstoun Housing Association, said: “This strategy reinforces our commitment to our tenants and the wider community, ensuring a fair and equitable approach for everyone.
“WSHA has a long-standing investment in the local area, and this strategy further strengthens and formalises that commitment, helping us deliver lasting positive impact for the communities we serve.”
Debs Allan, communities manager at Whiteinch & Scotstoun Housing Association, said: “Our new Community Investment Strategy is rooted in a simple belief: there is very little we cannot achieve when we work together.
“Community development is often described as the art of the possible, and that’s exactly what this strategy represents.”
Allan added: “It’s about listening more than we speak, understanding what matters most to local people, and creating the conditions for people and communities to flourish.”
Many of the opportunities put forward through the new strategy will be available for free to WSHA tenants, or at an affordable cost through the community hub The Whiteinch Centre.
To mark the launch of the strategy, WSHA has released a short film in celebration of the people, partnerships and community that support the new strategy. The film can be seen here: https://youtu.be/B-E1XrLdI7g.
