Williamsburgh Housing Association used its AGM to say a heartfelt goodbye to someone who’s been at the heart of its work for nearly two decades — Margaret Symons.

For 19 years, Margaret gave her time, energy, and wisdom to Williamsburgh’s management and sub-committees, always showing up with compassion, fairness, and a deep commitment to the people it serves.

Whether she was standing up for tenants, helping shape policies, or simply offering a kind word, Margaret reminded everyone what community is all about.

A spokesperson for Williamsburgh Housing Association said: “While she’s stepping back from her official role, the impact of Margaret’s work will stay with us.

“We’ll miss her thoughtful advice, her steady presence, and the way she always put people first. But most of all, we’ll miss Margaret—the person behind the role, whose warmth and dedication inspired us all.

“Williamsburgh Housing Association extends its deepest thanks to Margaret for her remarkable service. We wish her every happiness and fulfilment in the next chapter of her journey.”
