This course is for anyone who is responsible for arranging repairs and maintenance to common properties where there is a mixed tenure between owners and tenants. This course will explore what you need to consider before arranging repairs to common areas, who is responsible and what you should do before carrying out any repairs and maintenance.

 

26.08.25 Equalities data and the requirement to collect

Who’s it for and what’s it about?

This course will ask delegates to reflect on their process for collecting equality data and learn lessons to inform how they may collect this type of data in the future. In addition, the trainer will reflect on some of the issues they have seen whilst helping various organisations develop their plans.

 

26.08.25 HR/CS Network - August

Who’s it for and what’s it about?

The HR/Corporate Services Network runs on a quarterly basis throughout the year and is open to staff with corporate services and/or HR responsibilities from all housing organisations. 28.08.25 Performance conversations for managers

Who’s it for and what’s it about?

This course introduces managers and decision makers to a new concept and approach to appraisal. One where five types of Performance Conversations, replace the more traditional annual appraisal conversation approach. Regular and structured conversations that managers’ can have with every team member, no matter what age or stage of their career.

The session will take new committee/board members on a whistlestop tour of the terminology, roles & responsibilities, sector bodies and functions of the housing association and co-operative, helping new committee/board members to decide where to assign their precious learning hours as they get to grips with the new role. 11.09.25 Supporting Committee/Board – understanding governance

Who’s it for and what’s it about?

The Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR) has clearly set out their expectations of the committee/board, across several documents, particularly the Regulatory Framework.  This course provides an introduction and overview of how staff can support the committee/board.

Who’s it for and what’s it about?

Exclusive to Share this three-day Share/CIPFA programme focuses on good governance practice in the Scottish social housing sector. If you work in a governance related role then this programme is for you.

 

16.09.25 Housing (SVQ Level 2) (September)

Who’s it for and what’s it about?

An SVQ is a qualification accredited by the Scottish Qualification Authority, which is about gaining recognition for what you do in the workplace. Share runs this qualification as part of the Modern Apprenticeship in Housing, but it is also a stand-alone qualification. It is an entry level qualification aimed at junior members of staff or those new to the sector.

Who’s it for and what’s it about?

17.09.25 Housing (SVQ Level 3) (September)

Who’s it for and what’s it about?

An SVQ is a qualification which is accredited by the Scottish Qualification Authority, which is about gaining recognition for what you do in the workplace. It is a competency based qualification. Share runs this qualification as part of the Modern Apprenticeship in Housing at Level 3, but it is also a standalone qualification. It follows on from the SVQ level 2 in Housing and is aimed at staff who have got responsibility for tasks or for supervising others.

 

17.09.25 Factoring essentials

Who’s it for and what’s it about?

This course is aimed at individuals who are either new to factoring or wish to obtain a solid understanding of the fundamental requirements of delivering a factoring service within Scotland to protect the housing stock for the next generation.

18.09.25 Managing anti-social behaviour in communities

Who’s it for and what’s it about?

This course is primarily for frontline housing practitioners who are dealing with reports and complaints from tenants about anti-social behaviour (ASB). Beginning with the legal background and framework, delegates will work with practical examples, drawing on tutor and class experiences, to discuss strategies and approaches to dealing with ASB effectively. Delegates will also consider how to approach ASB holistically and how and when to engage with partnership organisations on the issue.

 

18.09.25 Questions you should be asking – affordability

Who’s it for and what’s it about?

The Scottish Housing Regulator has on several occasions highlighted the need for housings associations and co-operatives to ensure that their rents are affordable. Many organisations will use tools and calculators to analyse the figures and help them arrive at a conclusion. This session will look beyond this at the other ways committee/board should be scrutinising affordability decisions to do the best by their tenants, whilst ensuring the the future of their housing stock is protected.

 

24.09.25 Business administration (SVQ Level 3) (September)

Who’s it for and what’s it about?

An SVQ is a qualification accredited by the Scottish Qualification Authority, which is about gaining recognition for what you do in the workplace. Share runs the above qualification on a rolling programme as and when required for the Social Housing Sector. It is the qualification for you if you already have approximately two years’ experience of administration and you work as part of a team, but can also have some autonomy when making decisions in your job.

 

24.09.25 Universal Credit and maximising tenant income

Who’s it for and what’s it about?

This course is for anyone who wishes to gain a greater understanding about the current benefits system including Universal Credit. It will cover all the major benefits, including those specific to Scotland.
