Salary scale: £56,107 - £62,336 (plus essential car user allowance)

Work arrangements: 4-day (32 hour) working week (closed Friday) with all staff receiving 100% of their salaries. 4-day week split between home and office (Dalkeith, Midlothian)

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of almost 2,150 homes across Scotland. As Melville’s Asset Manager, you’ll support the delivery of Melville Housing’s Asset Management strategy, helping to ensure our homes remain safe, sustainable, well maintained and fit for the future.

Working as part of our Asset Management team, you’ll have responsibility for delivering a professional and comprehensive repairs and maintenance service, while supporting the effective management of and investment in our housing stock. You’ll work closely with tenants, contractors, consultants, owners and colleagues to deliver high-quality outcomes.

With a strong focus on performance, value for money and continuous improvement, you’ll help shape and deliver our approach to asset management, ensuring our homes and investment programmes meet the needs of our customers both now and in the years ahead.

In return, if successful, you’ll receive sector-leading conditions of service including a 4-day working week (for full pay), hybrid working (2 days in office, 2 at home), a career average revalued earning pension scheme, 25 days annual leave and 13 public holidays per annum (both pro rata for 4-day week).

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Line managing the Senior Property Officer and Property Assistants, supporting their development and helping them to deliver a high-quality service.
  • Overseeing the delivery of a high-quality reactive repairs service to our tenants, ensuring it is responsive, efficient and focused on customer needs.
  • Leading the management of void properties and void repairs, ensuring homes are brought back into use efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Supporting the Head of Asset Management with the management of budgets and the delivery of our reactive, void and planned maintenance programmes.
  • Leading on health and safety compliance across Melville’s housing stock and office premises.
  • Promoting excellent customer service across Asset Management, building positive relationships with both internal and external customers and partners.
