  • Shire has successfully delivered the Care and Repair Service in East Ayrshire for more than 20 years, working in partnership with East Ayrshire Council, Health and Social Care, Occupational Therapy and other key partners. The service plays an important role in helping older and disabled people remain safe, independent and comfortable in their own homes.
  • We are now seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and forward-thinking individual to join us as Care and Repair Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to lead an established service while continuing to develop and modernise the way Care and Repair is delivered across East Ayrshire.
  • Reporting to the Director of Housing, the Care and Repair Manager will be responsible for the effective management, performance and ongoing development of the service.
  • Key areas of responsibility include:

- Leading, supporting and developing the Care and Repair team.

- Managing the delivery of aids and adaptations, repairs and related services.

- Managing contractors, service standards, quality and performance.

- Monitoring budgets, funding and value for money.

- Developing and reporting on KPIs and service performance.

- Working closely with East Ayrshire Council, Health and Social Care, Occupational Therapy and other partners.

- Supporting procurement, contract management and continuous service improvement.

- Identifying opportunities for innovation, digital inclusion, technology-enabled support and future service development.

- Ensuring customers remain at the heart of the service and receive a high-quality, responsive and compassionate service.

  • We are looking for someone with strong management and leadership skills and relevant experience within housing, property, repairs and maintenance, construction, adaptations or a comparable customer-focused environment.
  • You do not need to come from a traditional Care and Repair background. We are particularly interested in applicants who can demonstrate strong operational management, partnership working, contractor management, financial awareness and a commitment to continuous improvement
