New Trustee Opportunities
Closing date: Sunday, 4 January 2026

Lintel Trust provides opportunities for people living in social housing to live fulfilled lives - with our values of participation, empowerment, inclusivity and accountability at the heart of everything we do.

We are seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees. As a Scottish charity supporting community-led projects and housing-related initiatives, we are looking for people who can bring enthusiasm, insight, and expertise to help guide our strategic direction and strengthen our governance.

As a charitable organisation, we work in partnership with Scottish Procurement Alliance, housing associations, voluntary groups and other organisations to fund and deliver projects that make a real difference to people across Scotland. From tackling social isolation to supporting financial wellbeing and community resilience, our focus is on creating opportunities for people to thrive.

As a trustee, you will play a vital role in shaping our strategy, overseeing our governance, and ensuring we continue to deliver meaningful impact for the individuals and communities we serve.

To complement our current Board, we would especially welcome applications from individuals with experience in:
    • Income generation and fundraising
    • Fundraising strategy / charitable income development
    • Lived experience and community representation, including people who understand the challenges facing tenants, communities, and grassroot organisations
    • Recycling, sustainability, or circular economy expertise

You don’t need to have previous board or trustee experience to apply. What matters most is that you share our commitment to social justice, bring fresh ideas and perspectives, and can contribute constructively to discussions. We are particularly keen to hear from people who can support our Leadership Team in achieving our charitable objectives, while providing independent, balanced and thoughtful challenge in a collaborative manner.

An annual calendar is in place for all meetings which are held in a hybrid approach. There are at least two occasions when attendance in person during standard working hours is required.

Who can apply?

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, including those who may be considering their first trustee role. You must:

    • Be at least 16 years old
    • Be (or willing to become) a member of the organisation
    • Not be disqualified under the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005

We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and encourage applications from under-represented groups.
