Glen Oaks HA celebrate award wins and shortlists

It’s been a successful few weeks for Glen Oaks Housing Association, who have won or been shortlisted for several awards.

The Association’s Service Improvement Group won the “Most Inspiring Scrutiny Newcomer” award at the Tenants Information Service (TIS) National Excellence Awards 2017. This award came hot on the heels of the hard working group being shortlisted for an Evening Times Community Champion award. The group have quickly built up an excellent reputation for their very helpful work appraising the services provided by Glen Oaks.

Laura Strang, Corporate Services Officer, was a Finalist at the TIS awards in the “Tenant Participation Champion” category. This recognised Laura’s superb work supporting the Association’s Service Improvement Group.

Pat McGinlay MBE and Helen Gracie, Glen Oaks Board members, both received long service awards from EVH at a ceremony in Glasgow. These awards recognised the 26 years service that each Board member has put in at Glen Oaks. Pat has also served on the Management Committee/Board of several other organisations including EVH, SHARE, GHA. Helen has combined her voluntary work with Glen Oaks with working full time. Both members remain committed to working to benefit the Association’s communities.

Glen Oaks Housing Association was delighted to be selected as a Finalist in the Housing Association of the Year (less than 3,000 units) category at the Scottish Home Awards which were held recently at Glasgow’s Hilton hotel.

Elaine McShane, chairperson of Glen Oaks Housing Association, said: “Congratulations to our Service Improvement Group for their much deserved TIS Award which recognises the great work that they do scrutinising the Association’s services. I am also delighted with the other awards that the Association, or representatives from the Association, have received or been shortlisted for. This shows the strength of the excellent customer service provided by Glen Oaks and the commitment of my colleagues on our Board and in our staff team.”
