The homes are the first new homes to be built in Abronhill for over 10 years and increase the Association’s stock to 258. The development of 36 units comprises a mix of 2 and 3 bedroom flats and cottage flats, and includes 2 wheelchair standard homes.

Rosemary, who previously lived in a private tenancy, is delighted with her new flat and said: “For me having security of tenure offers me piece of mind and lifts the threat of homelessness.”

Her new neighbour, Lorraine, was previously overcrowded living with family and had been living on a sofa for over two years. She added: “The new place means space and independence and I’am dying to be able to sleep my own bed.”
