Barratt Developments is calling on skilled workers from across the region to come forward as the business looks to expand its supply chain.

As the owner of house builder brands Barratt and David Wilson Homes, Barratt Developments plc is looking to ensure that it has skilled labour in place at a time when demand for new homes is on the rise.

The event will involve presentations from the developer and a discussion of the plans and projects for 2019, with interested parties being asked to register their attendance in advance for the event, which takes place on Wednesday 20 March from 9am to 12.30pm at Novotel Edinburgh Park Hotel.

Lee Ogg, commercial director of Barratt Homes East Scotland, said: “With a host of new developments set to launch this year and to fulfil our aims of delivering over 1000 new homes across the region, we are looking to supplement our existing sub-contractor base across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife. From sole traders through to larger companies, we are keen to engage with those who can provide trade services for the domestic building sector.

“Those who believe they have the relevant skills and experience may have worked with us previously or be new to Barratt Developments. Alternatively they could currently be working in the commercial sector and considering expanding into house building. The trades we’re looking for include - but are not limited to - ground workers, electricians, plumbers, painter and decorators, joiners, roofers, scaffolders, bricklayers and mastic sealant contractors.

“Sub-contractors are a vital part of our business and at Barratt Developments we are looking to create genuine and lasting partnerships, offering regular work. We ask any interested contractors to register and attend the event to find out more about working with Barratt and our future plans.”

Current sites include The Heathers in Fife, Preston Square in East Lothian, Harwood Park in West Lothian, and David Wilson Homes and Barratt Homes at Heritage Grange in Edinburgh.

Hosted at Novotel, Hermiston Gait, this breakfast event will include breakfast rolls, tea and coffee served on arrival.

This event is currently being advertised on our sister publication Scottish Construction Now. To register interest and confirm attendance, sub-contractors are asked to visit here.
