The events in Stranraer, Dumfries, Annan and Kirkconnel were popular across the region, with around 50 people attending the various days. They were held soon after recent employment days with DGHP’s contractor, idVerde.

The most recent drop-in events focused on training opportunities in roofing, rendering and window and door fitting in conjunction with Dumfries and Galloway College, as well as current job opportunities available at DGHP.

Staff from DGHP were on hand to answer questions and provide more information on the positions currently available as well as guidance on submitting applications for the jobs and training placements through the college, with more than 20 new applications being submitted.

DGHP’s Welfare Benefits Team, who deal with issues around Universal Credit and welfare benefits, were on hand at each event to answer questions in relation to applying for the positions.

Following the success of both the most recent set of recruitment days and the idVerde events, DGHP will be running future events to support tenants across Dumfries and Galloway.
