Clyde Valley Housing Association (CVHA) has completed a new development of 13 houses at Charles Drive, Milton of Campsie.

The location is the Association’s first new-build project in East Dunbartonshire and establishes a new relationship with builder Springfield Homes.

The site has a mix of cottage flats, terraced and semi-detached properties. The homes, all for social rent, have been allocated to their new tenants, who are delighted with the standard of finish, which includes roof solar panels.

The first of these tenants, Mr Wylie, who has already moved into one of the cottage flats, has expressed his satisfaction with the quality and spaciousness of his new home.

He said: “I can’t believe how large the dining kitchen is and the vast cupboard space – you do not expect that in a house for one person. It is a great house.”

Campbell Boyd, chairman at CVHA, said of the Association’s building objectives: “It is very pleasing to be working with our new partners and now see positive outcomes on our other social housing developments. Our on-going aim is to provide much-needed, affordable homes to our local community. The board of the Association is committed to meeting the significant demand for housing need and growing our housing stock with high-quality, energy-efficient properties. Ultimately, tenants benefit from having sustainable homes, providing comfortable living and a secure, safe environment to live in.”

Tom Leggeat, managing director of Springfield Partnerships, added: “We are delighted to be building a strong partnership with CVHA, through the completed site at Milton of Campsie and two other sites in Cambuslang and Motherwell, both of which are progressing well. We look forward to growing our partnership further through future, planned projects.”
