Cruden Building has successfully completed the latest phase of the East Balornock development in the north of Glasgow, on behalf of Home Group Scotland.

The firm was awarded the £6.5 million contract to develop Phase 6 at East Balornock, creating 35 highly sought-after affordable homes at the site on Broomton Road. Home Group Scotland and Cruden Building have been working with Glasgow City Council on this development which is part of a wider £50m landmark regeneration of the East Balornock area which will create around 320 new homes overall.

The latest phase of development includes a range of affordable housing including one and two-bedroom flats, two-bedroom bungalows and three and four-bedroom houses.

The homes benefit from excellent energy efficiency, with solar panels to all homes, high-performance insulation to floors, walls and ceilings and double glazing throughout. There is also provision for future electric vehicle chargers if required.

The communal areas have been landscaped with a variety of shrubs, heathers and trees for the enjoyment of residents. There are also drying areas, bicycle storage and a children’s play park.

Steven Simpson, managing director of The Cruden Group, said: “We have now constructed four out of the six phases of this transformational housing development. Delivering these new homes continues to build on our portfolio of new affordable and private housing developments across Central Scotland and enhances our strong working relationship with Home Group Scotland.
