DGHP award contract to support its digital transformation programme

Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership (DGHP) has appointed Castleton Technologies to support its journey to deliver a digitised world for customers, colleagues and partners.

This partnership will see DGHP become a leading provider of digitised services through the delivery of several workstreams that form its digital strategy.

The project involves migrating DGHP’s everyday operations onto a private cloud, moving away from its current on-premise solutions, and a desktop refresh.

This award is part of a wider transformation agenda that will include the procurement of a new telephony solution, with unified communications, transferring all of DGHP’s colleagues onto Office 365 and the procurement of a fully integrated business solution to replace the current systems.

The move is part of DGHP’s commitment to respond to the demands of a modern, digital world and will ensure it can offer fully digitalised services to customers and increase internal capacity.

Director of finance, HR and IT at DGHP, Hugh Carr, said: “This exciting development marks the next stage in DGHP’s journey to become the best landlord in Scotland.

“Our programme is ambitious, but it will confirm DGHP as a progressive housing association of the future – enabling us to continue to provide excellent services to our customers and create a great place to work for our 200 colleagues.

“With Castleton, we will have the flexibility to develop and innovate our services, giving us the agility we need to meet the challenges facing the housing sector both now and in the future.”

A thorough research and assessment process was conducted by DGHP and Alysium Consulting who are DGHP’s independent advisors, to identify which tools were required to implement its digital ambitions.

Phil Riley, lead technical consultant from Alysium Consulting, said: “It’s really exciting to be working with a forward-thinking, modern organisation which is willing to embrace new technologies – especially when it is working to better the lives of those in the local community.

“As a result, we expect to see the rest of the sector follow suit as they realise that IoT and automation is the future.”

Lesley Buckels, principal consultant at Alysium Consulting, added: “DGHP is setting out an innovative blueprint for digital engagement and we’re looking forward to seeing its journey unfold.”
