Elderpark Housing shortlisted for Scotland’s Housing Association of the Year award

Elderpark Housing is in the running to become Scotland’s Housing Association of the Year.

The Govan-based Association has successfully made the shortlist in the keenly-contested category in the Scottish Home Awards.

It is one of just three housing providers which are finalists alongside Kingdom Housing Association and Caledonia Housing Association.

Now in its 14th year, the Awards celebrate excellence in the Scottish housing sector. This year there were 130 entries in 18 categories received from 70 organisations across Scotland.

Gary Dalziel, chief executive of Elderpark Housing, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted and despite the last year being a unique and challenging year for everyone it was also an extremely positive year for Elderpark Housing.

“Now the nail-biting begins as we await the verdict of the judges and while we are somewhat the minnows in comparison to Kingdom and Caledonia we are proud to be recognised in the same company as them and wish each of the finalists the best of luck.

“In a year like no other, housing associations and co-operatives have demonstrated the role they play within our communities. They have done everything they can to help residents as they endured the devastating effects of the health emergency.”

Andrew Cunningham, chair of the 2021 judging panel and managing director at Ross & Liddell, said: “The Scottish Home Awards celebrates success in the housebuilding industry to reward individuals and teams working within the private and public sector. The incredible growth in entries is encouraging to see and reflects the impressive development work in the housing sector in Scotland.

“As chair, I would like to thank the judging panel for their valuable contribution in reviewing and debating each entry and congratulations to all the worthy finalists.

“Ross and Liddell are very proud to continue our support of the programme and would like to congratulate all the finalists for their achievements.”

The winners will be revealed at the awards dinner, hosted by Des Clarke, which will take place on 16 September at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Glasgow.
