Fourth annual private landlord conference announced in Ayrshire

East Ayrshire Council has announced the fourth annual private landlord conference to be held on Saturday, 10 November at St Joseph’s Academy in Kilmarnock.

The conference, which will be hosted by the East Ayrshire Private Sector Housing Unit in conjunction with North and South Ayrshire councils, will include speakers John Blackwood, chief executive of the Scottish Association of Landlords and Jim Bauld, solicitor from First Tier Tribunal Housing and Property Chamber.

There will also be informative workshops hosted by Tax and Landlord Accreditation Scotland (LAS) covering important topics including the energy efficiency of properties.

Councillor Elena Whitham, East Ayrshire Council’s cabinet member for housing and communities, said: “There have been significant changes to the legislation governing private landlords in Scotland in the last year. The conference will cover key topics including the Private Residential Tenancy and the energy efficiency of properties that must reach Energy Performance Certificate Band E by 2022 and Band D by 2025.

“There are limited spaces available for this free conference and I would urge private landlords to sign up today.”

The conference will be held on Saturday 10 November from 09:30 to 14:00 at St Joseph’s Academy, Grassyards Road, Kilmarnock, KA3 7SL.
