Supported by SafeDeposits Scotland, the online sessions will be led by Homes for Good’s head of lettings and tenancy sustainment, Joey Mirosavljevic and regional lettings manager, Andrew Richards.

Drawing on Homes for Good’s experience of managing homes and supporting tenants across Scotland, the webinars will provide practical guidance on some of the key issues facing landlords – from selecting tenants and preventing problems during a tenancy to responding to damp and mould and keeping up with changing legal and property standards.

The first webinar, Creating a Successful Long-Term Tenancy, takes place at 1pm on Wednesday 9th September. It will cover understanding prospective tenants and potential risks, referencing and affordability, making informed decisions about guarantors, preventing arrears and handling difficult conversations.

On 7th October, Repairs and Compliance: Updated Landlord Responsibilities with Awaab’s Law, will explore landlords’ responsibilities, identifying different causes of damp and mould, working constructively with tenants and taking a preventative approach to property maintenance.

The third webinar, on the 11th November, A Practical Guide to Why Property Condition Matters, will look at landlords’ obligations, proactive approaches to maintaining and improving properties and how investment in a home can benefit both landlords and tenants.

The webinars are free and open to all landlords – attendees do not need to be existing Homes for Good landlords.

The first three sessions take place online at 1pm on 9th September, 7th October and 11th November.
