The Heart of Support Awards will celebrate six nominees from across Scotland who represent the best of a workforce coming under increasing pressure. 

Nominations are now open with the invitation to recognise the dedication of caseworkers, advisors, support staff, housing officers, social workers, coaches, counsellors and more. 

The six nominees selected will receive an award engraved with their name, a £200 cash payment and VIP entry to the conference at Perth Concert Hall on 27-28 October, including meals and accommodation.

This year’s conference is focused on the impact of the housing emergency and will provide a platform for a diverse range of colleagues who go above and beyond every day.

Heart of Support award winners will have the chance to tell delegates about their work – the successes, the challenges, why they do what they do. This will be captured in a short video showreel, co-produced with the winners, to be presented at the conference. 

This year’s conference is titled It’s Personal: the human face of the housing emergency. The themes across the two days are Safe, Well, Respected and In Control, exploring the real-world impact of the emergency on people and the solutions for a better future. 

The themes will guide the panel to select nominees that represent all parts of the country, across all sectors and in different types of frontline roles. They are keen to hear about those who champion new or impactful approaches that get alongside people to ensure they are: 

    • Safe: prioritising people’s immediate safety  
    • Well: supporting people’s health and wellbeing 
    • Respected: advocating for rights and redressing inequality  
    • In Control: helping to increase people’s agency and financial inclusion 

To make a nomination, describe in around 150 words how your nominee makes the difference. It could be their persistence, methods, relationships they build, innovating with impact, or something else.

Make sure your colleague agrees to being nominated, can meet with Homeless Network Scotland ahead of the conference to create a video and is available to attend the conference. The deadline for returning nominations is Friday, 19 September 2025.
