HHP welcomes new chair and supports local charities at AGM

Hebridean Housing Partnership (HHP) has announced a change in leadership following its 19th Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, 3 September 2025.

At a board meeting after the AGM, Calum Mackay was elected as the new HHP Chair, succeeding Gordon Macleod. Helen Mackenzie was appointed vice chair, and Christina Macneil joins as the new tenant board member. Mr Mackay thanked his predecessor, Gordon Macleod, for his dedication and also expressed his gratitude to the outgoing Tenant Board Member, Gary Lamont, for his contributions.

During the AGM, members approved two key resolutions. The first was to appoint CT: Audit as the external auditor for the coming year. The second was a resolution to donate a total of £5,000 from its 2025 surplus to five local charities: Tagsa Uibhist, CRY (Andrew Macleod Memorial Fund), Crossroads Lewis & Harris, Western Isles Association for Mental Health, and Volunteer Centre Western Isles.

Following the official business, attendees enjoyed a talk from Jim Keenan, a former Colour Sergeant with the UK Commando Force. His presentation, “Leading from the Front – Lessons from the Mountains”, detailed his extensive military and mountaineering career, which includes summiting Manaslu, the world’s eighth-highest peak.
