Hillcrest Energy Advice Team shortlisted at Scottish Housing Awards

The HEAT Team

Hillcrest Energy Advice Team’s (HEAT) deft use of their extensive network of partner teams and organisations has seen them shortlisted as a finalist in the Working in Partnership category at the upcoming Scotland Housing Awards.

Taking place on Friday 14 November in Glasgow, the awards celebrate outstanding efforts and achievements from across the Scottish housing sector. HEAT’s shortlisting underscores the incredible work they’ve undertaken to reduce the squeeze of energy bills on Hillcrest tenants.

The Working in Partnership category celebrates the power of collaboration, and HEAT has worked tirelessly over many years to cultivate and fully utilise a wide network of partner organisations.

With this expansive network representing everything from energy companies, campaign organisations and charities, through to funding providers, the team has utilised this effectively to massively expand and sharpen the support they can provide tenants.

Just two of the standout projects that helped HEAT seal the finalist spot included a proactive project working with a number of partners to reach out to tenants before the Radio Tele-switch (RTS) switch-off, and a specialist initiative to identify and support young people who are largely a forgotten demographic.

Organised by CIH Scotland, this year’s awards will take place at Glasgow’s Double Tree by Hilton, where the category winners will finally be revealed.

John Alexander, Hillcrest chief executive, said: “This shortlisting serves as fantastic recognition for HEAT and the passion that they have for fighting fuel poverty and making a real difference for our tenants.

“Never content to simply sit back, they have put a huge effort into continually building and utilising their extensive network for innovative initiatives, to ensure that potential issues are dealt with proactively and tenants receive the support they deserve.”
