Hillcrest reports strong progress in tackling poverty
The Hillcrest HEAT team
Hillcrest has published an update on its Tackling Poverty Together Strategy, showing strong progress in supporting tenants through the cost‑of‑living crisis.
Launched in 2025 with two-year targets, Hillcrest’s services have already delivered over £4 million in financial gains for tenants through income maximisation, energy advice and targeted support. This includes over £3m secured by the Financial Wellbeing Team, over £1m in energy‑related savings, and further impact delivered through Hillcrest Enterprises of over £0.5m.
More than 650 heating demonstrations have been completed to help tenants reduce energy use, alongside emergency top‑ups for households using pre‑payment meters. Targeted outreach work has also secured additional income for pensioners and young people most at risk of poverty.
Alongside financial support, Hillcrest continues to invest in energy‑efficient homes, with nearly 99% of properties meeting national energy efficiency standards, and ongoing pilots of renewable technologies including solar panels.
Hillcrest has also continued to invest in apprenticeships, community projects and partnerships, supporting young people, local organisations and long‑term solutions to poverty.
Further updates will be shared as the strategy continues through to 2027.
