A proposal for 16 new homes in Dalmally has been formally submitted to Argyll and Bute Council.

West Highland Housing Association is seeking permission to build the development on land next to Oakfield at Glenview. The scheme outlines eight semi‑detached houses and eight cottage flats, intended as a natural extension of the existing homes at Scott Terrace.

A decision from the council is anticipated by mid‑March, and the plans are now available for the public to view.

A design statement by planning agents Mast Architects said: “The proposed development is located in Dalmally, to the west of Scott Terrace, and to the south of the A85. Currently, the site is an unused field.

“We intend to create the housing development as an extension to the existing housing at Scott Terrace.”

It added: “A lack of good quality, affordable housing for those wanting to live, work and raise their families in the area was identified as a risk to the long-term sustainability of the local population. Comments mentioned the cost of housing in the area being too high for local families, and many properties having been bought as second homes.”
