Lar Housing Trust has strengthened its board with the appointment of Alison MacDonald, a vastly experienced non-executive director and charity trustee.

Former banker, Alison MacDonald, has joined the board of the housing charity which develops mid-market rental homes across Scotland. She previously held various senior roles with Lloyds Banking Group and has extensive non-executive experience gained across different sectors.

Lar chair, Ken Macintosh, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Alison to the board and her wide experience of risk, governance and strategic planning in particular will greatly help Lar as we enter the next phase of our growth and development.”

Ms MacDonald is currently chair of climate change charity, Verture and spent many years on the boards of the Bank of Scotland Foundation and risk consortium ORIC International.

She also served on the professional standards committee of the Chartered Banker Professional Standards Board.

She added: “I’ve been aware of Lar and its amazing contribution to help address Scotland’s housing crisis for a number of years. I’m thrilled to be joining the board at an exciting time for the organisation as it tackles some really challenging and complex projects.”

Ms MacDonald has joined the board with immediate effect.
