Milnbank Housing Association has added Douglas Lapsley and Ophelia Duah to its board.

Douglas joined on 11 August 2026 as an appointed member, bringing more than 15 years of experience in the insurance and risk management sector. His knowledge of risk management and governance risks will provide valuable insight as the board oversees MHA’s services, priorities and future direction.

Ophelia joined the board on 17 September 2026, having moved into her home on Walter Street in February. As a new member of the community, she is keen to learn more about Milnbank’s role as a community-based housing association, with a particular interest in the services delivered locally.

After successfully completing a degree in Hospitality and Management, Ophelia changed careers and now works as a home carer for Glasgow City Council. She is also involved with an organisation supporting women’s welfare. Douglas’s professional expertise and Ophelia’s community perspective will complement the knowledge already represented on the board.

Both share a commitment to supporting MHA’s work and helping it respond to residents’ changing needs. Everyone at MHA extends a warm welcome to Douglas and Ophelia and looks forward to the contribution they will make in the years ahead at MHA.

Rose Tinney, chair of MHA, said: “We are delighted to welcome Douglas and Ophelia to the board. Their professional expertise, fresh perspectives and commitment to the community will be appreciated as we continue to respond to the needs of our residents. I look forward to working with them both.”
