Under a new plan, nearly 140 new homes could be constructed on land near the Silverburn shopping centre in Glasgow.
A site located in Boydstone Road beside the M77 has been eyed by Persimmon Homes West Scotland for development, The Herald reports.
The firm’s application states that since 2016 it has delivered roughly 500 homes in the area, which have been “extremely popular”.
The plans state: “The proposed development is considered a logical opportunity to continue the momentum of house building in the immediate area.”
The application is currently under consideration by Glasgow City Council, which could see the delivery of 139 homes, which are a mixture of two, three and four bedroom properties.
Persimmon also intends to deliver 175 car parking spaces, including 36 for visitors, as well as an open space area.
The plans continued: “Our vision is to create a high-quality and attractive residential environment, which ties in with the established development to the north.”
The plans state that it is “clear from the planning history and the immediate surroundings that this site is considered acceptable for development”.
