Regulator adds new names to statutory managers list

The Scottish Housing Regulator has updated its list of individuals it will select from when making statutory appointments to social landlords following an open selection process.

Jitinder Takhar and Jill Cronin have been added to the statutory manager list since it was last published in 2019, replacing Julia Fitzpatrick, Alison Hadden, Geraldine Kay and Carole Oatway.

Wendy McCracken, Mags Lightbody, Sue Philpott, Paul Rydquist, John Mulholland and Lawrie West remain on the list.

The Regulator said it develops the list to be transparent about the people it will select if it has to make an appointment to a social landlord.

The list will be in place for three years, and will be kept under review. The Regulator can appoint a statutory manager when this is the most proportionate way to address a serious problem or failure, and protect the interests of tenants and other service users.

Michael Cameron, chief executive of the Regulator, said: “We updated our list of statutory managers to identify experienced managers with the skills, experience and track record for the role. Our selection process had a clear and appropriate focus on quality and cost.

“We will only appoint a statutory manager to a social landlord in the most serious circumstances. It is important tenants, other service users and stakeholders have confidence that we will intervene when we need to and when it is the right thing to do.”
