Speakers announced for Rock Trust’s national conference on ending youth homelessness

Tickets are now on sale for the Rock Trust’s national conference on May 30 at the Hilton Edinburgh Grosvenor.

Delegates can expect a day of dynamic discussion and interactive learning, exploring the full journey of support for young people at risk of homelessness, with sharing of best-practice and pioneering new strategies from across Scotland and Europe.

This year’s conference will be chaired by Rock Trust CEO Kate Polson, and will include an insight into some of their newest models of support and how an emphasis on creating choice is already making an impact on young people’s lives in Scotland. These new services include Housing First for Youth, the Rent Deposit Scheme, and Future Builders.

Other speakers include Dona Milne, deputy director of public health, NHS Lothian, and chair of the Children’s Parliament in Scotland and Youth Scotland, Dr Beth Watts, senior research fellow at I-SPHERE (the Institute for Social Policy, Housing and Equalities Research), Heriot-Watt University, and Jean Templeton, CEO of St Basils.

The Rock Trust National Conference has been described by a previous attendee as ‘very informative and aimed at a wide audience (both operational and strategic). The speakers were very interesting and had insightful comments… it was one of the best conferences I have been to in several years.”

Kate Polson said: “We are really excited to be hosting colleagues from across the UK at our third annual conference. The range of speakers and the topics being covered continue to be varied and we hope that they will be thought provoking and encourage people to look at innovative options for delivering the goal of ending youth homelessness.”

Early Bird tickets are available until the end of April and can be purchased here.
