The housebuilder is set to deliver 169 new homes at its Bankfield Brae development on land off Greendykes Road at Greendykes South.

Bankfield Brae will deliver a range of one and two bedroom apartments as well as a choice of two, three, and four bedroom homes. It will also feature a small retail unit helping to meet the local needs of existing and future communities.

The development will complement Taylor Wimpey’s nearby Edmonstone Walk development and forms part of the £200m Craigmillar masterplan to deliver 1,800 new homes, town centre development and public realm improvements including a new joint campus primary school, affordable homes, new shops, a library and a multi-function council office.

Pauline Mills, land and planning director at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “We are so pleased to be starting the construction of our Bankfield Brae development in Greendykes. The development will not only provide residents from around the local area with a wide selection of homes, but it offers great commutable routes to Edinburgh and the wider area. As one of the largest housebuilders in the UK, we are committed to building more than homes and making sure that we add social, economic and environmental value to the wider communities that we operate in.”

The firm’s Brooklands development at the former Johnstone Hospital site on Bridge of Weir Road in Linwood will see 110 new three and four bedroom homes.

The development also will include the creation of a recreational space, a new footpath link, as well as the associated infrastructure for a development of this nature.

Kirsty McGill, head of sales for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, added: “Taylor Wimpey is delighted to confirm that pre-construction and enabling works to deliver our development of new homes on the land off Bridge of Weir Road in Linwood are now under way.

“As well as an impressive range of new homes, our development will provide a range of economic benefits for the local Linwood area including jobs, as well as the attraction of new customers to local businesses.

“We believe this development will be a great addition to the local area and it also complements our other developments across the region.

“Our development of new homes at Linwood will offer potential buyers access to a great place to call home that benefits from an exceptional range of local amenities. We anticipate that the first new homes will be launched for sale later this year.”
