Taylor Wimpey secures deal with Wheatley to deliver social rent homes in Queensferry

Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has reached an deal with Wheatley Homes East to deliver 23 social rent homes at its Queensferry-based Hawthorn Gardens development. 

The new homes will be a variety of modern two-bedroom homes, made to provide energy-efficient accommodation for individuals, couples, and small households. 

Construction is anticipated to commence later in 2026, with the first tenants anticipated to move into their new homes early next year. 

Abby Kelman, interim land director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “These new homes will offer high-quality, sustainable living spaces and contribute to the wider growth of the community.” 

Lindsay Lauder, director of development and regeneration at Wheatley, said: “The new properties will provide safe, modern and energy-efficient homes for people who need them, and we look forward to welcoming customers when the first homes are completed in 2027. 

“Partnership working is key to increasing the supply of affordable housing, and we’re grateful to City of Edinburgh Council and the Scottish Government for their continued support in helping bring these homes forward.” 

The new homes are part of the wider Hawthorn Gardens development, which has introduced new housing, landscaped areas, and community amenities.
