Tenants and landlords making a difference at TIS Annual Conference

TIS Annual ConferenceThe hugely inspiring and motivating TIS Annual Conference 2015 saw tenants, residents and housing staff from all over Scotland working together to make a difference.

TIS were thrilled to welcome more delegates than any previous year to Glasgow to take part in a full and varied programme with an excellent line up of speakers and sessions.

Highlights included:

  • Out of the Darkness theatre company production
  • Ministerial address from Margaret Burgess MSP, Minister for Housing and Welfare
  • 3 highly acclaimed study visits to see regeneration in action
  • A range of exceptional speakers and interactive workshops
  • Innovation Theatre
  • Conference Exhibition
  • TIS National Excellence Award Ceremony
  • ‘Scrutiny Sunday’ which saw the launch of Scrutiny Stories – the latest TIS publication.
  • Initial feedback from attendees included Fiona Wylie, West of Scotland Housing Association who said: “Just passing on the fabulous comments & compliments from our group of 4 tenant volunteers who attended. They were most impressed and really look forward to working with you in the future.”

    Gordon Macdonald, Partick Housing Association Scrutiny Panel, added: “The TIS Annual Conference 2015 was an excellent, well organised programme, professionally presented, that opened my eyes to what a great group of inspiring people, who hosted and all those who attended this event from all over Scotland. Full credit to you all and achievements past, present & going forward.”

    The resources from the weekend are available free to members of TIS and will be uploaded into the resources library on the TIS website.

    The 2016 TIS Annual Conference will take place on the 17th – 19th June, at the Radisson Blue Hotel, Glasgow.
