The show goes on for Barrhead Housing tenants

Fifty tenants of Barrhead Housing were treated to a trip to the pantomime on Tuesday 9th December.

The free tickets were donated to the housing association to mark the launch of its new partnership with Enjoy East Ren, the new face of East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure.

Jolene McNaughton, customer of Barrhead Housing, said: “It was an exquisite evening that wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for Barrhead Housing and Enjoy East Ren. As I have a large family, this time of year can be very expensive saving up for presents for Christmas Day, so we can’t afford a trip to the pantomime, so having the free tickets to see Cinderella was fantastic and a lovely treat”

Anthony McReavy, chief executive of Enjoy East Ren, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome tenants from Barrhead Housing to Cinderella at Eastwood Theatre, marking the launch of our new partnership and we look forward to continued success in working together.”

Barrhead Housing’s director of customer services, Colin McCulloch, said: “This a marvellous gesture by Enjoy East Ren and one that will be very much appreciated by our tenants.”

Barrhead Housing’s work with families and communities was recognised officially earlier this year when it received Initiative of the Year at the 2025 All About Barrhead Awards, organised by the town’s Business Improvement District.

Colin added: “Going forward under the new partnership, we will work together to promote all of the various activities organised and put on by Enjoy East Ren to our tenants.”

Barrhead Housing, which owns and manages more than 1000 homes across East Renfrewshire, is a registered charity and social landlord.

Earlier this year, it signed a strategic agreement with East Renfrewshire Council to increase and improve housing supply and services, contribute to regeneration, provide support for the most vulnerable and progress carbon reduction.

50 tenants attended the December 9 evening showing of Cinderella at Eastwood Theatre.
