The development, valued at £36 million, will provide 137 energy-efficient homes for social rent. 

In December last year, site preparation and infrastructure works started. With the council’s in-house architects having designed and project managed the development, the development is being built by Clark Contracts Ltd and is anticipated to be delivered by November 2028. 

Nearer that time, all new homes will be advertised in accordance with the Councils allocations policy.

The project will provide homes which include 22 one-bedroom homes, 63 two-bedroom homes, 41 three-bedroom homes, ten four-bedroom homes and one five-bedroom home. 

Out of the 137 homes, 25 will be made to ambulant standards while seven will provide full wheelchair accessibility. 

The development is supported by £14m from Scottish Government grant funding, while the rest of the investment is given by the council.
