Location – Hybrid/Office-based – Glasgow

Salary - £56,653 – £59,443 (EVH SM1–SM3)

Hours: Full time - 35 per week 

Contract: Permanent

Milnbank Housing Association is seeking a skilled and experienced Governance and Assurance Manager to join our Leadership Team. This is a pivotal senior role, responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality governance and assurance arrangements that support the successful delivery of the Association’s Business Plan and strategic objectives.

Formed in 1975, Milnbank Housing Association recently celebrated its 50th anniversary and has a long-standing track record of supporting local communities across Dennistoun and Haghill. We are a community-based housing association committed to delivering high-quality services to our tenants and owners, and to continuous improvement in all that we do.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Board and Leadership Team, ensuring robust governance frameworks, high-quality reporting, and strong organisational assurance.

Key Responsibilities

Governance Leadership: Provide expert advice to the Board and senior management on governance, regulatory compliance, and assurance frameworks

Board Support: Deliver high-quality Board servicing, including coordination of meetings, reports, and governance documentation.
Policy and Assurance Frameworks: Lead the development and review of governance policies, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with the Scottish Housing Regulator’s Regulatory Framework and wider legislative requirements including GDPR and FOI

Performance and Reporting: Coordinate the production of accurate, timely performance and assurance reports to support decision-making

Continuous Improvement: Support the development of robust systems and processes to enhance organisational assurance and governance effectiveness

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will bring experience of delivering governance and assurance processes within a complex organisation, ideally within the housing or regulated sector. 

They will demonstrate:

    • Strong knowledge of governance, regulation, and legislative frameworks, particularly within the Scottish housing sector

    • Experience working with Boards and senior stakeholders

    • Excellent written communication and report-writing skills

    • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail

    • Knowledge of data protection (GDPR), FOI and information governance requirements
