RUCHAZIE HOUSING ASSOCIATION SEEKS NEW COMMITTEE MEMBERS

We are keen to recruit new members to our Management Committee to lead and direct the Association to achieve our Vision ‘To provide a service that contributes to an attractive, safe, inclusive community where people want to live’.

Ruchazie is situated in the north-east of Glasgow in the Greater Easterhouse area. We are small community based charitable housing association who own and manage 226 properties, and we provide high quality and responsive services to support our tenants and other residents living in our communities, which are within the most deprived areas in Scotland.

As well as our day-to-day service delivery we are exploring the possibility of a new development of 40 homes on the vacant St Philips church site on Drumlochy Road. This is our first development since 2016 and we are keen to work in partnership with the local authority, other housing providers and the preferred developer for the site.

As part of the annual review discussions, the Management Committee have agreed to actively recruit additional members to ensure that it maintains the range of knowledge and experience required and that membership remains compliant with the constitutional and regulatory requirements. We are keen to recruit new members with the following skills and/or experiences and to ensure the Committee is representative of the community we serve.

  • RHA tenants
  • Local residents
  • Finance / risk / audit

  • Be able to attend our annual mini-conference and sector seminars and conferences to network and learn about the role and key issues affecting our work.

We hold at least 9 meetings in a year, and generally these meetings last 2 hours or less. You will need some time to review any reports and papers for each meeting and to attend training sessions.

We need people who are keen to join us, feel they have something to contribute to the wellbeing of our tenants and the local community, share our sense of purpose, and possess an enquiring mind and a willingness to challenge.
