Location: Rutherglen/Hybrid

Closing Date: 14th June 2024

About the Association

Rutherglen and Cambuslang Housing Association is a well-respected charitable registered social landlord providing nearly 873 affordable, high-quality homes for rent. It also provides factoring services to 936 owners and commercial businesses.

It is a high performing organisation and enjoys high levels of tenant satisfaction across a range of indicators. Staff and Committee members are committed to building on this and ensuring we provide tenants with affordable, safe and modern housing in vibrant, sustainable communities.

We have set ourselves an ambitious but exciting, vision for the future that includes strengthening our customer engagement and looking at innovative ways to provide efficient and effective services that represent value for money for residents.

To support us to achieve this and deliver the best outcomes for our tenants and service users, we are looking to bring additional people onto the Management Committee to compliment and strengthen our current committee.

The Role

Although staff carry out the day-to-day operational tasks, it is the Committee that, in essence, runs the Association. Committee members are responsible for determining the strategic direction of the Association, setting the policies and monitoring performance to ensure the highest standards of service are being provided and acting as an employer.

We are committed to promoting equality and valuing diversity and therefore welcome applications from anyone interested in the work we do and with a desire to improve the lives of people and families in our communities.

Previous experience of working in housing or being part of a committee is not needed as training and support will be provided to support new members. However, we would particularly welcome interest from;

  • Tenants of the Association and residents in our communities
  • Individuals with some experience or knowledge of;
  • business finance
  • asset management
  • community engagement
  • governance of a registered social landlord

The role of Committee member is voluntary, however reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed.

Time Commitment

The Management Committee normally meets 10 times in a year with at least one Strategy Planning Day per year. Meetings are in person in the Association’s office with the option to attend remotely.
