Management Committee Members

Are you interested in Community Based Housing and making a real difference to people’s lives?

Trafalgar Housing Association has vacancies on our Management Committee and would love to hear from you.

We are currently looking for new Members to join our voluntary Committee to strengthen and enhance our current group of members and provide guidance and direction to our staff team of 7. We need people who will collaborate with others to provide insight and strategic direction - and make sure that we deliver on providing high quality services to our residents.

We welcome all interest at this time, but we would be particularly interested to hear from people who live near to Trafalgar’s area of operation in Clydebank, or with skills, knowledge, or experience in:

  • Finance
  • Tenant Safety
  • Homelessness
  • Asset Management
  • Procurement
  • Community Engagement
  • Wider role or other third sector services

We are also interested to hear from those who have a genuine interest in providing high level services at a local level.

We want to attract people who have a positive attitude, who are passionate about fairness and interested in housing. We will offer a comprehensive induction and training programme and will support all members to attend external conferences and events which in turn could assist their personal or career development.

Our Management Committee meetings are held 7 times per year, usually at 7 pm on Wednesday evenings. We operate a hybrid meeting format and are happy for members to attend digitally, although some in-person meetings would be preferred. We also have two sub-Committees, with one focussed on housing management and maintenance, as well as an Audit and Risk sub-Committee covering all things governance, health and safety and human resources. We also host strategy days with staff and Committee members to review our progress and set our goals.

The positions on our Management Committee are voluntary but we pay reasonable out of pocket expenses including transport and childcare costs.

We are particularly interested in ensuring that our Management Committee is diverse and representative of the communities that we serve and so would welcome applications from those who have experienced homelessness or identify themselves as coming from traditionally underrepresented groups. We would be happy to try to accommodate communication or access requirements.

Trafalgar Housing Association is a registered charity and has 300 properties for social rent, 2 sharing owners as well as providing factoring services to 6 owners within Clydebank.
