Perth-based housebuilder A&J Stephen has warned it expects to lose money in the current financial year due to delays in development sites coming forward. The family firm, which currently has developments in Perth, Glenfarg, Inverness and the outskirts of Aberdeen, trebled its profits last year.

A&J Stephen has submitted plans for the first phase of a housing development on the edge of Scone. The developer wants to build the first 42 homes on the west side of the Scone North site, which will eventually be home to 700 new properties.

Perth councillors have approved plans for 50 new affordable homes for sale on a 10-acre plot near the southern edge of the city, the Evening Telegraph reports. A&J Stephen won outline planning consent for the development five years ago and has now received approval from Perth & Kinross Counc

Homes previously delivered by A&J Stephen Housing plans which will more than double the size of a Perthshire village have won support from councillors.

Perth and Kinross Council has granted permission to build 700 new homes in Scone. Councillors voted to grant planning permission in principle for the Scone North project despite more than 900 objections being lodged over concerns including traffic and pollution.
