The TIS National Excellence Awards: Inspire to Achieve, in association with the Scottish Government, took place last month, and saw housing organisations, tenants, residents, and community groups come out on top as they scooped the top prizes for their outstanding work, passion, and commitment within the Scottish housing sector.

The NETRALT group was crowned ‘Most Inspiring Scrutiny Group’ at the ceremony.

TIS chief executive, Ilene Campbell, said: “The TIS National Excellence Awards offer a seal of approval for the most outstanding work across the sector. Each year applications get better and better and this year was no different. The exceptional quality of entries really shone through and this strength highlights the fantastic developments that organisations are taking to lead the way throughout the sector.”

The award ceremony and gala dinner took place at the Doubletree by Hilton Westerwood Hotel and Resort and was hosted by Scottish actor, Gary Lamont.

This is the second time NETRALT’s mystery shoppers have been recognised at a national level, having placed as runner-up for ‘Best Practice in Involving Customers in Services’ at the TPAS Good Practice Awards in November 2018.

NETRALT secretary and Castlehill tenant participation officer, Catherine Coutts, said: “I’m absolutely thrilled that we are recognised for ‘Best Practice’ as that is at the core of everything we try to do.”

NETRALT is a collective of tenants, residents, registered social landlords and local authorities, with the aim of promoting and supporting tenant participation in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray. It provides a platform to share best practice, to get best value and to encourage tenants and staff to work together more effectively.
