Arc-Tech MU enters private housing sector with work on Glasgow development

The firm, which recently celebrated one year in business, has supported the creation of 1,400 affordable homes across 25 projects since its inception and now enter the private housing sector for the first time at Calderwood Lodge.

Located in Newlands, the development comprises the creation of 20, two and three-bedroom homes upon the site of the former Calderwood Lodge Primary School. The masterplan includes the conversion of a Victorian sandstone villa to conceive a range of two and three-bedroom apartments as well as the new build construction of a three-storey apartment block and mews house extension.

Arc-Tech MU will work on behalf of CCG (Scotland), which is providing main contractor services on behalf of the developer, CCG Homes, with the delivery of a turnkey gas, water and electrical package undertaken over a one-year programme.

Managing director Josh Martin said: “Our involvement at Calderwood Lodge is another big milestone for Arc-Tech MU as we enter in to the private housing sector on the anniversary of our business’ inception. Our work in affordable housing in the last year has been extensive and we are delighted to enter this new sector with such a unique project.

“The site itself is challenging given its location, adjacency to existing homes and the uniqueness of the development - particularly the due care and attention required with the Victorian conversion - but our team is vastly experienced and will ensure that our multi-utilities installation will be carried out as efficiently as possible with minimal disruption to the surrounding community.

“Arc-Tech MU are proud to be part of this prestigious development and I look forward to seeing this unique development come to life over the next year.”
