Barrhead Housing Association welcomes Andrea Paterson and Alan Glasgow to its Governing board

Andrea Paterson, leading advisor in Scottish housing, and Alan Glasgow, senior housing leader, have joined Barrhead Housing Association’s Governing Board.

Alan Glasgow is a leader in Scottish social housing with extensive senior experience in housing management and a track record in leading change and delivering excellent customer service and performance.

With over 20 years’ experience in a variety of roles, Mr Glasgow is currently locality director at Glasgow Housing Association and holds a postgraduate diploma in Housing Studies.

Mr Glasgow said: “I’m looking forward to using my knowledge and experience to benefit the Board and leadership at Barrhead, and to being a part of the journey of my local housing association.”

Andrea Paterson is a leading advisor in Scottish housing. Director and founding member of The Indigo House Group, she specialises in the strategic development and long-term financial planning of affordable housing providers.

She has worked throughout Scotland with central and local government, the regulatory bodies, housing associations, social enterprises, developers and funders since the late 90s. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy and holds an MBA.

Ms Paterson said: “I am delighted to join Barrhead Housing Association, and welcome the opportunity to work with the Board and Leadership Team at this time in the organisation’s development.”

John Hamilton was elected as chair of Barrhead Housing Association on 9 September 2021. Previously vice chair, Mr Hamilton is a local resident of Neilston, president of the East Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce, and a health and safety consultant. He has been on the Board since 2014 and completed a governance certificate from Napier University in March 2018.

He commented: “On behalf of the Board, I am delighted to welcome Alan and Andrea to Barrhead Housing Association and greatly look forward to working with them. Andrea and Alan bring a wealth of knowledge and experience and will make a significant contribution to the next chapter of the Association.”
