Caledonia Housing Association (CHA) is celebrating a triple success at the 2026 Scottish Home Awards after being named ‘Housing Association of the Year’ for the second consecutive year and receiving two further prestigious awards.

The awards, which recognise excellence and innovation across Scotland’s housing sector, were presented at a ceremony in Glasgow on Thursday evening. In addition to retaining the Housing Association of the Year title, Caledonia and its partners received awards for two landmark housing developments that are helping to transform communities and provide much-needed affordable homes.

Built as part of the first phase of the community-led Bellsmyre Regeneration Project, CHA and CCG Scotland’s £7.3 million Whiteford Avenue development in West Dunbartonshire received the award for ‘Housing Regeneration Development of the Year’.

Supported by £4.4 million of Scottish Government funding, the development has delivered 27 high-quality affordable homes and forms part of a wider regeneration programme designed to create a safer, greener and more welcoming neighbourhood for local residents.

The Scottish Home Awards judging panel also recognised CHA and Cullross Ltd with the award for ‘Social Housing Development of the Year (under 100 units)’ for the  £12.7 million Ballindean Road development in Dundee. The project delivered 67 high-quality, energy-efficient homes, including  18 properties  through the Scottish Government’s New Supply Shared Equity scheme, helping to broaden access to home ownership at a time of significant market pressure.

Allan Jones, chair, Caledonia Housing Association, said: “On behalf of everyone at Caledonia, I want to thank the Scottish Home Awards judging panel for recognising the hard work, dedication and commitment of our colleagues  with these awards.

“The Caledonia Board have always seen the Bellsmyre and Ballindean projects as vital in their potential to deliver real, lasting benefits for our tenants and communities and we are delighted their significance and importance has been recognised.  Strong partnerships are essential to creating quality homes and places for our communities, and we are exceptionally grateful to CCG Scotland and Cullross for their support and collaboration.

Julie Cosgrove, chief executive of Caledonia Housing Association, added: “Being named Housing Association of the Year for a second consecutive year is a tremendous achievement and a fantastic endorsement of the work taking place across Caledonia.

“These awards recognise our ongoing commitment to supporting the Scottish Governments housing and social justice priorities, through delivering new, affordable homes, providing responsive local services and investing in strengthening communities. They are also a reflection of the dedication, expertise and passion of colleagues across the organisation, who work every day to make a meaningful difference to our customers’ lives.

“To have our Bellsmyre Regeneration Project and Ballindean Road development recognised alongside this award makes the achievement even more special, and I would like to thank our partners and everyone involved for helping make this possible.”
