East Kilbride Housing Association secures another first with double accreditation
East Kilbride Housing Association (EKHA) has become the first social landlord in Scotland to be awarded the Platinum accreditation for both Investors in People (IIP) and Investors in Wellbeing (IIW).
The accreditation follows on from becoming the first Scottish housing association to achieve the National Green Standard in 2025.
The announcement was made following a rigorous assessment, including a presentation to an IIP Platinum Panel.
Nicola Dillon, IIP practitioner, said: “EKHA stand out for their consistent authenticity, values-led culture, high levels of trust and empowerment and a deep commitment to listening to colleagues and acting on what they say.
“Wellbeing is embedded into everyday decision-making, demonstrating that when people feel supported, trusted, and valued, they deliver exceptional outcomes for tenants and each other. Double Platinum provides robust validation at the very highest level.”
Michael Gallagher, EKHA chair, added: “An organisation’s people are its most important asset, which is why we continue to invest in both staff and Board members as one team. We reap the rewards with the extremely high levels of customer satisfaction we attain across all levels of the service. I am very proud of this wonderful news.”
Chief executive of EKHA, Andy Young, said that he was extremely pleased with the way colleagues have embodied the Association’s values and put them into practice.
He said: “We trust and support our colleagues to live EKHA’s values and to continue providing the five-star service that our tenants enjoy. It is a demonstrable fact that a happy and healthy workforce is a productive one, as evidenced by our KPIs and tenant satisfaction levels.
“To attain double Platinum is especially gratifying given the very difficult operating environment for housing associations just now. I am proud to lead such a fine team. Huge congratulations to all of my colleagues, staff and board alike.”
