Hebridean Housing Partnership approves charitable donations

The recipients receive their cheques from HHP Board chair Norman MacLeod

The Board of Hebridean Housing Partnership (HHP) has approved a resolution to donate £1,000 from its surplus to a number of local charities.

The charities included Autism Eilean Siar; Eilean SIar Foodbank; Western Isles Kidney Patients Association; Cobhair Bharraigh and Caraidean Uibhist.

Three of the recipients came to the HHP office in Stornoway this month to receive their cheques and to give staff a bit of background on their organisation and tell how the monies would be used.

Alina Morrison, Angus MacLeod and Tina MacDonald on behalf of Western Isles Kidney Patients Association joined Ann Meah, Ally Lockett and Catriona Stewart on behalf of Eilean SIar Foodbank and Claire Morrison on behalf of Autism Eilean SIar.

An HHP spokesperson said: “It was satisfying to hear how these monies would help people in our communities, and humbling to hear about the work being done by local charities throughout the islands. HHP remains committed to assisting locally-based charitable organisations and we would like to thank all recipients for the work they do.”
