Gordon Macleod is to step down as chair of the Hebridean Housing Partnership (HHP) this summer to pursue a new direction in his career.

He has been a member of the HHP board for five years, serving as its chair for almost three. His tenure has been praised as a period of “experienced and wise leadership”.

Gordon will begin training to become a minister in the Free Church of Scotland over the summer. He said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed by time on the board, working with other members of the board, and with the whole team at Hebridean Housing Partnership.

“I firmly believe that HHP has made a tangible difference to the communities of the Outer Hebrides and with a good strong Board and committed staff will continue to make a difference for years to come.”

Calum Mackay, vice chair, will take on the duties of chair until the AGM when a new chair will be appointed.
