Scotland’s Housing Network strengthens member‑led focus at Strategy Day

Scotland’s Housing Network (SHN) brought together its board and staff team for a highly successful Strategy Day, providing an opportunity to reflect on progress, reaffirm organisational purpose, and shape priorities for the years ahead.

The session centred on a review of SHN’s Strategic Plan 2024–29 and its accompanying Strategic Delivery Plan, ensuring both continue to reflect the needs, expectations, and aspirations of the Network’s diverse membership across Scotland’s social housing sector.

The day also benefited from the active participation of new board members, who contributed fresh perspectives, insight, and constructive challenge to support long‑term strategic thinking.

Throughout the discussions, a consistent theme emerged: SHN remains ambitious for growth while firmly committed to its member‑led ethos. This guiding principle continues to underpin the organisation’s approach to service development, performance benchmarking, data insights, and collaborative improvement work.

David Cargill, chair of SHN, said: “It was inspiring to see the board and staff working side by side — with members at the heart of every discussion. The strength and richness of our strategy come from listening carefully and building on the expertise of our community.”

Andrea Finkel‑Gates, chief executive, added: “The challenges ahead for our members demand pace and partnership, and we’ll stay relentlessly member-led while investing in the services and resources our members need most.”

The Strategy Day also reaffirmed a shared belief that SHN’s greatest strength lies in its members — their expertise, commitment and willingness to collaborate. Their continued engagement ensures that SHN’s strategic direction remains grounded in real‑world experience and aligned with sector priorities.

With renewed clarity and collective enthusiasm, SHN now looks ahead to 2026 and beyond, determined to build on its progress and continue delivering the support, insight, and improvement tools that members value most.
