Taylor Wimpey makes AMSC application for its final development in Bishopton

An Approval of Matters Specified in Conditions (AMSC) planning application has been submitted to Renfrewshire Council for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s final development of new homes, located off Arrocher Drive within the Dargavel Village masterplan in Bishopton.

The application outlines plans for 315 new homes, including 257 from Taylor Wimpey’s new national range of house types, and 58 new homes from its exclusive Caledonian Collection.

The proposed development aims to offer a diverse mix of homes that are designed to cater to a wide range of buyers, from first-time homeowners to growing families and will offer a wide choice of three, four and five bedroom homes.

Key features of the proposed development include:

  • A variety of house types and styles, including semi-detached and detached homes.
  • Sustainable heating solution through the use of an Air Source Heat pump for every home.
  • Enhanced biodiversity with hedgehog highways, bug hotels, bird boxes, and bee bricks.
  • Safe and accessible footpath links throughout the development to link to the wider Dargavel Village master plan, with Arrocher Drive transitioning from Craigton Drive.
  • Excellent connectivity to local amenities, including easy access to the new Central Park recently opened at Dargavel Village with its 45 acres of green space, plus the new vibrant village centre nearby.
  • Helpful transport links, including the park/ride access at Bishopton Train Station and proximity to the new Bishopton M8 motorway junction.

Martin Findlay, technical director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, commented: “We are pleased to have reached this significant milestone, which also signals over 14 years of commitment to this new and vibrant Renfrewshire community since the first Planning Permission in Principle was granted in 2011.

“We are very proud of our key role in the delivery of the Dargavel Village master plan, and our latest proposal aims to complete our contribution to the master plan with a well-connected, sustainable community that not only provides high-quality new homes but also enhances the local environment and supports long-term growth. We look forward to working with Renfrewshire Council and the local community as the application progresses.”
